A CSCS Card is mandatory for anyone wanting to work within the construction industry. Jobchange have been delivering this qualification for many years, offering two different types of card including a red provisional card and a green labourers card.
A frequently asked question amongst our customers is ‘How long do they last for’ Well, the Green Labourers Card is valid for 5 years whilst the Red Provisional Card is valid for just 6 months. The only difference between obtaining a 5 year card and a 6 month card is having a construction related qualification.
Sometimes, our customers are in instant need of a card therefore, attending CSCS Card practice sessions and working towards the provisional. Whereas, some of our customers can attend our Level 1 Health and Safety in Construction course and CSCS Card Practice sessions, allowing them to obtain a 5 year card. It all depends on the individual’s needs.
I guess you are probably thinking ‘Why does a CSCS Card expire?’. Getting a brand new card involves passing the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test again – thereby updating your health and safety knowledge in the process. So, in a way, it’s CSCS’s way of ensuring and improving safety on construction sites in ever-changing work conditions.
